Danjiangkou Bridge to complete construction in July

Danjiangkou Bridge, midline part of the south-to-north water transfer
project, has finished the docking of its main pier on June 6. On the left
bank, the girders of the bridge approach are urgently moulding while on
the right bank, the T-shape girder has been linked and the construction
has entered a peak period. Two sections of the bridge will be joined by
the end of this July and open to traffic by October. This bridge is a
package project of dam heightening of the south-to-north water transfer
project as well as an important passage in construction. It will play a
vital role in the construction, material and stuff transportation for the
midline project. The bridge is 1,128.25 meters in full length with
estimated investment totaling 100 million RMB (US$12.5 million).
