Shanghai deposit balance exceeded 2 trillion yuan

(Mar.16, 2005) Since the rise of interest rates last year, the deposits
of Shanghai's financial organizations keep going up. According to
statistics disclosed by the Shanghai Branch of the People's Bank of China
on Mar.15th, the RMB and foreign currency deposit balance of Shanghai's
domestic and foreign financial organizations exceeded 2 trillion yuan for
the first time, reaching 2.1041 trillion yuan, up 15.2% year on year.
